How can we help you?

Founded by a group of local businessmen in 1991, the Columbus Area Community Foundation (CACF) promotes the management of charitable gifts, allowing donors to make a lasting contribution to their community. CACF is committed to making a lasting impact on Columbus, Kansas, and the surrounding area through grants to local organizations making a difference in Cherokee County.

We connect donors to needs

The Columbus Area Community Foundation is your charitable-giving partner in Cherokee County. We exist to make charitable giving easy for the individuals, families, businesses, agencies, and organizations that want to make a difference in their communities.

The Cherokee County WWI Veterans Memorial, commonly known as the Clock Tower, was originally made possible through civic contributions in 1919. The renovation and continued maintenance of the Clock Tower is supported by CACF and its donors.

We provide funding for nonprofits

Thanks to the support of our generous donors, CACF offers grant funding for Cherokee County nonprofit organizations, including churches, schools, public charities, and government agencies. We host an ongoing competitive-grant cycle during which eligible organizations can request funding to support their local projects.

Without these grants, the Columbus Historic Carnegie Library would have been closed because it would have been inaccessible to many Columbus residents.
